Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS)

GC-MS is used in compositional analysis of plants and derived food products to identify and quantify a wide range of biomolecules based on their mass and spectral properties. GC-MS (Agilent) is dedicated to the analysis of volatile compounds, equipped with a 7890B chromatograph, MSD 5977B mass spectrometer and Gerstel MultiPurposeSampler autosampler for preparation, extraction (SPME, head space) and online injection. This equipment supports our research on the biosynthetic pathways of plant metabolites, their role in the plant and their potential applications in human activities.
