Fermentation equipment

In the framework of work package 3, different fermentation tanks have been acquired:

- A 10L fermenter designed to carry out bacterial cultures for the production of biomass or microbial metabolites on a pilot scale;

- A 5L fermenter designed to carry out bacterial cultures in order to study the physiology of microorganisms or new production processes on the benchtop scale;

- 3 minibios fermenters (250mL) designed to carry out bacterial cultures in order to study the physiology of microorganisms or to study new small-scale production processes.

These fermentation tanks were completed by different equipments. The cryostat is intended to cool the fermenters. Fermentation pumps allow to supply microbial cultures with substrates. The feed / recirculation fermenter pumps are intended to study the production of microbial metabolites in fluidised bed bioreactors or in aerated membrane bioreactors but also the study of separation processes, in particular membranes. Finally, the dO probes are intended for the on-line measurement of dissolved oxygen in fermentation tanks.
